What We Do - Resident Services

LACDC encourages individual growth and expands opportunities for residents in our developments. We work with communities to assess their assets and needs and coordinate with a network of local organizations, volunteers and government agencies to link children, youth, families and adults with social, educational, cultural and recreational services.

Services are provided by our experienced Resident Services staff, by partner agencies located in the neighborhoods we serve, and by dedicated community volunteers. The precise mix of services available at a development is targeted to the resident population present.

Family developments may offer after-school programs, computer literacy, career education, English as a Second Language classes, and financial literacy. On-site childcare in licensed and subsidize centers is also available at select sites.

Senior developments offer services that are designed to support independent living and healthy lifestyles and may include nutrition, health and social programs.

Residents at special needs properties can include families escaping domestic violence, formerly homeless individuals, and those living with HIV/AIDS. Additional services provided at properties with Special Needs populations include counseling and case management.
