Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, The Los Angeles Community Design Center (LACDC) is a premier nonprofit provider of affordable housing that creates new opportunities for its residents and transforms entire communities throughout Southern California.
LACDC accomplishes its mission through the strength of its fully integrated, multi-disciplinary business model. Every project benefits from the experience and cooperation of our core groups Development, Architecture and Planning, Property Management and Resident Services.
Founded in 1968, LACDC began by providing comprehensive architectural services and technical assistance to community groups with a variety of projects including child care centers, health clinics, senior service centers, playgrounds, shelters for the homeless and permanent affordable housing for working families. The organizations that LACDC has supported over the years totals more than 500, including other affordable housing developers.
Building on these accomplishments and addressing the critical need for affordable housing in the region, LACDC is committed to the success of its 31 properties that provide homes to more than 5,000 low-income individuals. LACDC will also ambitiously expand its portfolio year after year.
As a nonprofit firm, LACDC has a double bottom line - a social mission to serve the community and a professional responsibility to assure the financial viability of our developments. We never forget either one.
